Referee from Turkmenistan judges weightlifting competitions for the first time in the Olympic history
It is the first time in the history of the Olympic Games that a citizen of Turkmenistan, Secretary General of the Weightlifting Federation of Turkmenistan Charygeldy Mammedov will judge the weightlifting competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Watan Newspaper reports.
Earlier, Charygeldy Mammedov judged the world and Asian championships and a number of other international weightlifting competitions.
Athletes will compete for medals awarded in 339 events across 33 sports in Tokyo.
9 athletes from Turkmenistan are participating in the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, 5 of them are weightlifters.
